Yesterday, at the Christmas concert, we met the beauty that blooms, the tremor of sweetness, the love among those glasses that were raised in the madness of the world. We toasted to life, to the future, to that flower born in a land of war and trying, with strength, to sprout and to shine.

We did it with the kids from San Donato, accompanied by two wonderful teachers, Tatiana Giuranna and Ilaria Fundoni, together with the children’s choir Lolek Vocal Ensemble conducted by Barbara Agnello. We gathered the meaning of sound and the pauses of life with the piano played by Kseniia Nikitina and we heard, with the passion of the whole universe, the voices of Matteo Desole and Ilina Mitrevska. Pablo Picasso and his Guernica also came by to tell of war and despair. He did so with the voice of Giampaolo Cassitta, accompanied by a woman who was music, beauty, strength, resilience, portrayed by Marta Pedoni.

In this night of history, where in the wars of the whole world there is no room for tenderness, for beauty, where there is no room for the certainty of surviving, here: this concert served to raise our glasses to that damp sky, in the hope that the noises of war, of hunger, of desolation will no longer resound.

Thanks to the smiles of all of you who were there and thanks, above all, to Irene Dore, wonderful artistic director, and to Luigi Esposito who built the framework of an intense and necessary evening, organized by the Rotary Club Sassari Nord and by the associations Intrecci Culturali and Ars Aurelia.

Thanks to those who were there, to those who rejoiced, to those who reflected. Thank you for your contribution. It is a small drop in the cup of life of children afflicted by wars. But it is a vital drop. Because it is yours.
