“I thought it was love and instead it was Valentine’s Day”: in Porto Torres, readings, music and the presentation of the 2026 Festival
This year too, the Intrecci Culturali association dedicates a meeting to the day devoted to lovers. An anniversary which, far from being seen as a romantic event between man and woman, takes on many colorful shades, including, in the love celebrated, different interpretations of the meaning of the most controversial and hardest-to-understand feeling of all time. People never stop talking about love, because you never know enough about it.
After the first two editions held in Tempio Pausania, this year the event moves to Porto Torres, given the overlap with Carnival which in Tempio is a true institution, able to capture the attention and enthusiasm of citizens well beyond the traditional celebration of Valentine’s Day.
On Saturday 14 February 2026, at 6:00 pm, at the Casa delle Associazioni in Porto Torres (via Principe di Piemonte 72), the third edition of “I thought it was love and instead it was Valentine’s Day” will take place, an event that weaves together words, music and moments of sharing, designed to offer the public an original and plural view on the theme of love.
The evening’s protagonists will be the stories of the group “Raccontarsi”, made up of participants in a writing course of the University of the Third Age of Porto Torres, , who will offer readings born from a creative and educational path dedicated to storytelling.
Accompanying the readings, the musical interludes by singer Rita Casiddu, with a repertoire linked to the great hits of singer-songwriter music, will help create a dialogue between words and notes, expanding the evening’s suggestions.
During the meeting, the official presentation of the Ammajare Festival 2026 is also planned, a moment that will offer the public a (small) preview of the themes and events of the new edition.
But about love, as with all serious matters, it’s better to talk on a full stomach: therefore, the initiative will end in an informal and convivial atmosphere, with fritters and a moment of gathering open to everyone, in the name of sharing and participation.
The event is promoted by the Intrecci Culturali association in collaboration with the University of the Third Age of Porto Torres, with the support of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, the Sardegna Foundation, the Municipality of Siligo – witches’ cities network.
